Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" that outlines the expected cost of your medical and mental health care.
By law, healthcare providers must give an estimate of charges for medical services, including psychotherapy, to patients who either do not have insurance or choose not to use it.
This estimate will help you understand the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy.
You are welcome to request a Good Faith Estimate from your healthcare provider or any other provider before scheduling a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the option to dispute it. Be sure to keep a copy or a picture of your estimate for reference.
